We had quite the family gathering last night for my younger by one year brother, Bill. In fact he and I are both 48 now until I turn 49 on February 16. The place is a fun experience because you actually get involved with choosing every part of your food. It becomes more than just a visit to a restaurant. They have every vegetable, meat, noodle, sauce, rice for you to choose from. You try to pile as much of it into your bowl and then hand it over to the 4 cooks who are surrounding a ginormous flat grill. They stir and chop and slide it around until it is cooked and then voila, your personalized dinnner is ready. You are allowed to go back as many times as you wish. I'm sure some regulars must have a system. The only problem is that the bowls provided are so tiny. I think maybe because they want to cut down on wasting? Anyways, a really good time. Thanks to my parents who are the best hosts either in their own home or out on the town as well!
I have a new nurse this weekend(days)and except for an occasional smoker's cough, she's doing really well. I had to tell her right off, no small talk when I 1st wake up, no questions, I had to do this because the 1st morning she came in last week, she knocked loudly on the bedroom door, flung it open and yelled out, "GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE!" Plus she was masking smoke smell with a heavy dousing of Lillies of the Valley cologne. I typed a secret email to the case manager and she clued her in about snuffing out the use of cologne and toning down her demeanor. So, its been good, except for the fact that I will always feel a bit too controlling, but am getting over it. Just asking for what I want and need. During our 1st moments together, this morning, I had to tell her sorry, but I can't do spearmint gum! Ughhh. She was fine with it tho. "well, I won't know unless you tell me." Another stresser was having her merge with the grand puppy, but they are doing great together! I am very happy about all of this.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your sunday. Screen Actors Guild awards tonight! I happen to love the awards shows.
