There is new food out there.

If you live here in Minnesota, have you all heard of The Herbivorous Butcher? This is one of the first of it's kind and it happens to be in Minnesota! My daughter has recently become an anti meat eater. She has a hard time eating anything that once had eyes and a soul. She got me curious and we visited this anti meat butcher shop a couple of weeks ago. The creations are quite interesting. They create so many different meat alternatives. Whatever real meat you can think of, they have made substitutes for. Made out of soy products, gluten powders, jack fruit! Here is an excerpt from their Facebook page." Brother and sister team Aubry and Kale Walch have spent the last several years perfecting The Herbivorous Butcher’s deliciously deceiving meat-free meats. Aubry has been a vegetarian for 18 years and has spent over a decade creating meat-free alternatives to all the foods that she grew up with on Guam, a place where cooking was very important and each meal consisted of 2-3 different kinds of meat or seafood, not to mention a wide variety of flavors, spices, and textures, blending traditional cuisine with culinary cultures from across the world. After years of watching Aubry thrive as a strict non-meat eater, Kale Walch followed suit and became vegan. Over the past several years, he has developed a keen sense for the many ingredients and methods that go into making the most flavorful, nutritious and satisfying meat alternatives. Having made the change from omnivore to vegan more recently, he is able to invoke the flavors of his previous “meat palate” to create realistic and tastefully accurate meat-alternatives." I think the deli-style shop is really cute. It is a to -go type place and I hope they can expand soon to have a place to dine inside. Based on the crowd waiting for food,I can see them having to expand soon! Google them if you'd like directions or mail order. I have to say that I am no longer afraid to try meat alternative foods. It is healthy and fun and BRAVE to try these new foods.
