No More Family and Divorce Court For Me

It's true. After 7 or 8 years of visiting the Anoka County Courthouse, my case is done. Final. Terminated. My ex is still waiting to hear about his disability approval. We found out today that if he is approved, he does NOT need to pay any of his highly accumulated arrears. So, to some it may appear that he "won", because he is getting off scott free, but boy oh boy did he lose. At least now I'm more mentally free of the stress of not knowing whether I could eventually count on him to do what he promised his dead mother he would do once he left. He told her right before she died that me and the kids would never lose our home. Well, from the moment I was forced out of my home 7 years ago, I knew that finding any inkling of trust in him was going to be really tough Yet, I did hold out hope for several years and about 14 visits to the courthouse. Today, I have finally been presented with enough evidence that I will no longer waste my energy of keeping the spark of hope alive. He is a complete stranger to me and it's time to move on!

  1. That says it all, Colleen. He is dead to me. He is not a good father. You are one fine woman, smart, beautiful and free! Your mother and father are so proud of you, Callyn and Mack! Love, Mom
