Carmen the Nurse (Twin Cities Kids Show Icon)
Carmen the Nurse has died. We would watch her show every morning before elementary school. Such a simple yet entertaining show! She either lived or worked in a tree house. I can't remember too much more about her show except that toward the end of the program, she would share drawings and artwork that area "kidlets" would send in. I remember one morning she held up one of my drawings and several kids at school also saw it. Could that have been my fifteen minutes of fame?

There was a writeup about her in the Pioneer Press this a.m. It was a much simpler time but a very good time. It was good for the children as a transition from home to school. You all ate your cereal while watching her. We were just talking about the Maypo, Cream of Wheat, Malt o Meal, and Coco Wheats that you used to eat. Good Stuff! She was 88. Love, Mom
