"You Can Hop Up Into The Chair..."
Was the optometrist serious? Yesterday, despite the 40-50 mile per hour winds, I decided that it was the day I was going to
go get my eyes checked and order some new glasses, bifocals. Can't wait for the bi-focals! Everything was going fine. The particular store that I go to is very friendly, efficient and accessible. And they take walk-ins, or as it is, and they don't advertise it, but they should...roll-ins! The only minor glitch was that the Doc. had forgotten that a year and a half ago, he had simply slid the big, exam chair out of the way so that I could simply roll into place under the eye testing doo-hickey machine, thin a ma bob. "Ok, you can hop up into the chair..." me, "ah, no I can't do that..." It was only a few seconds of awkwardness. I jumped right in explaining how we had slid the chair out of the way last time and it had worked out great. So, we did that and had a pleasant exam. It almost went off without a hitch. Not a big deal. I'm sure I increased his awareness yet again! I really thought that he would have been a little more sympathetic or something? Move on. I did. Just happy to have accomplished the eye mission.

I'm so glad you are going to get your new eyewear! It really makes a difference. You will look so sharp! Cannot wait to watch "Mary Poppins" this afternoon with you and my other 2 daughters and 1 granddaughter. Fun! Love, Mom
