So Much Fun At The "Manuary" Party

Manuary is an event that was created by the local talk radio station, FM 107.1. Several nominated men compete in a voting war amongst the 107.1 listeners. With a lot of trying to be caller #7 into the radio shows, I happened to win 2 tickets again this year. (last year it was an email contest) This year it was bigger and better, with more than 100 listeners in attendance. The party was held down in St.Paul at Forepaugh's restaurant.(different from last year) It is an old mansion which has been a favorite St.Paul dining spot for many years. With a famous 27 dollar gourmet hamburger, it is definately a special occasion restaurant. Well, I had as much fun talking to the host of the place and the coat check man as I did talking to the radio people! The cold weather really seems to make people bond. The highlight for me was talking to host Laurie about Duluth. She lived up there around the time that I was there. Of all things, we were reminiscing about the Cove bar over in Superior, Wi. Anyways, I was very lucky to be in the group of winning listeners. Mostly women, who were there to meet and greet like me. Most of us star struck! I hung way back though and played it cool. Several women seemed to be following last year's winner James Denton around. Of the men who were competing, I think the local, famed GB Leighton will most likely win. He happens to be one that I didn't meet, but he is still in the running. The winner will be announced next week. You can still vote on Fm 107.1's web and show page. Kind of fun. bye for now.
