Old Enough To Be Your Mother

It was around 3:30 this afternoon when I found out that I had another young, male nurse who was going to start as a PCA (personal care attendant) for me right away. As in "he'll be there at 5." Yikes. I was by myself because a substitute nurse could only be with me until 2:00. My Mom was here to run interference between him and Brody. I went outside to wait for him and missed him at the wrong door. I finally connected with him inside and he is VERY YOUNG (24), looks about 15 and I realized when I said, "oh, my daughter is 23..." that I am old enough to be his mother. I didn't say anything to him, but I thought it! It was so cute when my Mom asked him "how are you at cooking?" he got a scared look on his face and I told him not to worry that I am a very good director. He will be with me from 5-9 pm mon.-thurs. Mack's old hours, since Mack is working full time now with a weatherproofing company. I showed him where things were and we talked for a bit about my "case," and I asked him if he had any questions and he said with the scared look again, "yeah, about the cooking..." I told him once more not to worry that he would be learning a lot about cooking while working with me. And he said "oh, that would be good." He was born in Liberia and came to the U.S at age 10 and I notice right away his English is very good. So, it's good to have another new person to get to know.
