My nurse Susan returned to work today after attending her Grandma's funeral yesterday. I was so glad that she was back. maybe we could get back to "normal?" Not the case. Yesterday, she lost one of her best friends due to a motorcycle crash. She was riding to meet up with a group of friends to celebrate her birthday. So ironic to say the least. She was due to become a grandmother for the 1st time coming up in 3 weeks.
As far as the police could piece together the accident, it looked like a male driver didn't see her and pulled out in front of her and she most likely try to swerve out of the way, crashed and was hit too.
her brain was totally smashed and she was airlifted to the hospital, but died en route. The question remains about why certain bikers don't believe in helmets. My nurse tried to explain how some bikers don't think it's a true biking experience with a confining and view blocking helmet. To me, it would be like jumping out of an airplane without a parachute! Death and dying...how damned exciting and thrilling!
