Last night I happened to be listening to My Talk 107.1 and the show was about Nutrition and Wellness. A most important topic to me, (rosacea and acne) was being discussed. My son has been struggling with pretty severe acne for a few years now. He has been so good about trying everything that I supply him with and taking my tips.. The nutrition ladies recommend NO dairy, no sugar and no trans fats. He has been pretty good with stopping sodas...including diet pops. The milk and cheese will be maybe slightly tricky? For both of us actually. Anyways, I'm actually excited to be on this path with him. We are going to try the Paleo-diet...also known as the "cave-man" diet. Only veggies and protein. Like a caveman! No waterbuffalo or ducks, but I did stock up on some turkey burgers, sliced ham and a chunk of steak. I also purchased a large bottle of Omega 3's with Fish Oil. More frozen and fresh veggies and a new stir fry marinade with garlic and herbs. How bad can that be? he cooks these things for me, so now he will be sharing them with me more.
We have tried every product for acne including:the natural ones like aloe vera, so many washes, pro-active, Versa Foam, everything Clearasil, Neutrogena, Clear Skin brand, Benzoyal peroxides , salycitic acids, balanced Ph's, Toners, Epi-Duo with the dermatologist, anti-biotics...you name it! So, to have something as basic as a more healtful diet is a welcomed idea! NO DAIRY! No sugars!I hope it can be as easy as that. Anxious to try it and wish us luck!
