With the dramatic change in the weather, there has been a lot more children playing out in front of my building. I had to call out the other night, "stop screaming..." had to say it again. Evidently, these two young girls were really enjoying screaming at the highest pitch they could, because I had to repeat, "stop screaming...thank you!" It was dark and one of them could see me and she told the other where I was and the other said..."oh...I see her." I felt like the old woman in the shoe or something.I had to laugh a little. When did I become the grumpy old lady in #208? I feel like that sometimes. I used to be so much more patient. I'm sure the kids around will possibly mellow out? I'm sure it states in my lease that kids cannot be playing on the grounds unattended. I know my son and his friends have been chased away for skateboarding around here, so maybe the kids can be limited somehow. I hate approaching the rental office for something like this. The newest manager is a great listener and very helpful, but I'll wait until it happens one more time. I wouldn't mind more peace and quiet because on top the kids screaming, the freeway is doing its low, rumbling springtime roar. Haven't shut the windows yet though. It seems like a luxury that I'm saving until it gets legitimately hot.
The wind was really blowing back in the woods today. I stopped and listened to the whurring sound and looked up into the trees. I always notice a lot of fallen trees back there and I went thru pretty quickly. We ended up sitting outside for quite a while off and on. My nurse Jen has awesome dog grooming skills and she worked on Brody for a while. His winter coat needed to be thinned out. Mission accomplished. In case I didn't thank you enough today Jen, THANK YOU.
My son just got back from "the cabin" (his stepmother's) and he said they were still able to 4 wheel on the ice and fish in the 80 degree temps. I thought outloud, scarey! have you ever known anybody to fall thru the ice? I have and it's not a pretty story. That's his Dad. Throw caution to the wind! An appropriate day to do just that. Good night.
