Took A Break

There's been a lot swirling around in my little brain lately. First, I found a procedure (surgery) to implant what is called a breathing pacemaker. I heard of this operation about a year ago, thru a quadrapalegic facebook friend who lives in Maryland. She had the procedure done and we have chatted back and forth about it a little bit. She is extremely happy with the result. The surgery involves electrodes being implanted on or near the diaphram muscle which shoot messages to the lungs to breathe basically and then carrying around with you, a small transmitter box. Compared to the ventilator I use, it's small. It means for the patient, no longer being vent. dependent. No more tubes, big batteries, and 50 percent less suctioning. WELL, I have made an appointment with my good old reliable and ever handsome, Dr. Amdahl. I haven't had to see him in person for a while, so this is a good way to have a check-up and pick his brain a little bit about this. I'm excited, but nervous too. I'm telling you though, just the thought of not having tubes hanging on me, makes me very hopeful! The appointment is 10March.
Other stuff on my mind would involve, you guessed it, more COURT. Valentine's Day, I will be up and at 'em bright and early to attend yet another hearing. This may be about the 7th or 8th time that I have been a participant as the obligee on my child support and spousal maintenance case. This hearing is to ensure that he has been making payments and what to do about arrears due. The amount would be too staggering to some. I will give an update on monday.
My son had strep symptoms this week, but am happy to report that it was his yearly case of the creeping cruds. He's back at school and clearing up.
On to the weekend! Our local meteorologists have been reporting high temps. in the 40's for saturday. Very hopeful!

  5. In its original sense this was a group of individuals defined mainly by their membership of some formal body,
but the concept has been expanded to encompass the customers of a range of retail outlets.
