Court Went Well

Visiting court went well. It was funny. We (me,Mom and Nurse Jen) had just entered a small elevator and the door shut. my Mom said 'everything is going so smoothly, we're ahead of time." Zap! we actually got stuck in this little elevator. Had to buzz the rescue lady at the elevator company and couldn't really understand her too well, but she said she would alert the courthouse. About 10 minutes later, we started moving. The door opened on our floor and I was expecting to see a cute fireman or at least a sherif, but to no avail. No McGuyver type either. just a little bump in the road. Then, we started our wait. Family court on a monday morning is really crowded. Small kids jumping around and rolling around on the floor, while polished attorneys and defenders try to scoot around them. The atmosphere is serious and rather depressing. We met a woman who really wanted to talk. We listened. Makes one realize how much disfunction really is in this world. Then, we finally connected with the county representative who doesn't promote either side, she presents the facts of our case and we agreed to a payment amount which was signed off by the judge. We were in the courtroom for only about 5 minutes.Hopefully, no more court in my future for a long time. It is a big relief for me and my family. Alls well that ends well.
