A Garage Sale Proprietor Reached Out to Me Today.
I can get so busy chasing around that I can honestly forget that I am in my wheeling chair! Today my Mom and I hit a neighborhood garage sale and at one of the sales, an older gentleman noticed my chair. He spoke about the style of it and that I knew "how to handle it very well." A few minutes later he came up and asked about my tubing. "What is this, oxygen?" I told him "no, it's just air." Then I volunteered a very short version of my story. "Muscular Dystrophy, had broken both legs, breathing complications, in the chair for 12 years." And he said, "broke both legs? Wow, I have NOTHING to complain about." I like when I am reminded of just how much trauma I have been through in my life, and how I have come through to the other side! Sale on!
