Swept Away At 3am
I try not to turn on the tv at 3 in the morning, but sometimes it just can't be helped. I usually turn on the tv if my nighttime nurse needs to come in. So, early this morning I caught the beginning of the classic Oliver! 1968's picture of the year. It appears to be set back in the 1800's London. A nine year old adorable orphan boy runs away from a strict and stark orphanage and hooks up with a group of boys trained to be pickpockets by an elderly mentor. At first, I was thinking this film may be too harsh or scarey for the young viewer and then I thought NO, it is the perfect flick for the young viewer and their parent. Kids will really appreciate what they have after watching this movie! Like good and abundant food to eat, warm and cozy beds, and someone to love who loves them back! It's all good. The unforgettable part of the movie for me is when Oliver sings, "Where is Love?" I had remembered all of the songs from singing them in choir, but was reminded of the poignant meaning found within!
