Elevator

After two days of being cooped up in my 2nd floor apartment, one of the elevators was repaired early last night and is up and running! We grabbed Brody the pup and raced outside. The fresh air has never been better and I released a lot of tension while taking a stroll around the building. I slept so well. The only thing I'm worried about and I shouldn't, is the fact that it is still early in the storm season and we've already had 3 obnoxious storms. Well, not all are obnoxious, I like to sleep when it's raining and slow rumbling. I've been through many storm seasons in my life and am not a pannicker, so It's all going to fine.

Yesterday, another eaglet in the Southern Minnesota Eagle Cam. experienced stress and drama. I tuned in and couldn't believe what was unfolding! the last chick left, "Harmon" named for Harmon Killebrew(former Twins player and legend) was stuck in some of the nesting. He was struggling and crying for over 24 hours. The parents looked so worried and helpless. Birders who watch all day everyday, notified the Raptor center which is very close to the nest. They got approval from a national organization that protects eagles. Before we knew it we were watching a rescue! This eagle expert climbed right up into the nest and started checking out the eaglet. His wing looked deformed, he was very dirty from his own messes and had maggots. They also mentioned that his equillibriam was off. After, several minutes, they decided to take him to clean up and rehabilitate. For how long, I'm not sure. You can see the nest if you go to MNBound.com and click on live eagle cam. It's fascinating. Usually, there are 450 people viewing each day but at the end of yesterday afternoon well over 8,000. Quite a happening.

Enjoy your weekend! I'm going on my trail
