Really?

Have you ever gotten a phone call at 1 a.m? I did early this morning...very early! My nurse answered and there was no one there. I beeped her in to find this out. Then, I star six nined it and looked thru my phone contacts in the phone and couldn't match it up.  What to do? Of course, I turned on the tv to get my mind off it. I figured if it was important, "they" would have left a message. I went to the Memory Tv channel that has all of the old shows. Normally I know that if I go there I will be sucked in, so I avoid turning it on, but last night needed the distraction. I actually got caught up in a "Dobie Gillis" episode. Dobie was a sit-com teenager back in the 50's. They tried to portray him as a "normal" maturing boy. Well last night, he was doing army duty just after graduating highschool. He thought the service was perfect for him except for one thing...no women to "date." He was determined to take out the waitress at the commissary but she wouldn't go out with the soldier unless he could come up with a date for her roommate. She just happened to have a photo of the roomie in her pocket to show Dobie...they were making references to her weight and ugly face! Long story short, Dobie didn't end up going out with her because he was doing night patrolling. It was just too much and we think today's tv is bad? Look where it all started. It's just fascinating to me to watch some of these old programs.
When I woke up, I called the phone number and it was a fax machine...strange, but I was relieved too.
