Ok, it wasn't that bad, but it was somewhat bad. Last night it started raining and then turning to snow and by midnite we had lost our power in the apartment. I think I had fallen asleep about a half hour earlier and it is just plain unpleasant to be woken up by beepings and flashes. My son and nurse came in and started the powers out routine. Find the flashlights, couple of candles, power source plug in, call Excell Energy. They told us it should be back on by 2:30 am and to my surprise and delight, it was! Sure, I have enough battery supply to last a couple of days, but I can't help it when my mind starts to wonder and fear the possibly unexpectd.
I then woke up early to watch a set of parents who had lost a 16 year old son the other day at the hands of a shooter in his highschool the other day. They live in Ohio and I hadn't heard about it until this morning. They were being interviewed possibly in their home, for the CBS morning show. I couldn't help but wonder why they chose to tell their story when they were obviously so distraught and in shock. It was really difficult to watch, but once I started, I had to finish. I'm sure there will be much more on this story as they try to find out what led the teen shooter to do this horrific act. Like so many before him, there never seems to be any kind of reasonable explanation except pure insanity. I think I will stop turning the news on because it can be bad at night for sleep and in the morning may ruin your entire day.
There was also bad news pertaining to my 1st celebrity crush. Davey Jones is dead at 66 years old I believe due to a heart attack. I was around 7 years old when The Monkees 1st came onto the scene. The original boy band. They had a tv show and hit records that I couldn't get enough of. His accent always got to me too! The way he danced, sang, all of him. Thanks to Davey Jones for lots of great memories. RIP. Is it Davey or Davy?
