I was on a short visit to see my daughter yesterday, and when I left her, drove by a crime scene very near to where she lives. Just the day before, we had commented on how quiet it has been in both of our buildings and areas. It appears, that in the townhome that I had driven by, with all of the crime scene tape surrounding it, they found two dead bodies. It was a man and a woman. They were discovered when the woman didn't show up for work. Later, we learned that it had been a murder suicide. It was said that the couple had been romantically involved and that the shooter(he) was 36 and she was 26. I'm not sure if they had children. My daughter said they did. I just can't think of a more terrible situation than someone not wanting someone else to live without them and then making sure of it, by killing that person. It is very upsetting especially for our towns because the same type of situation just occurred near that building a year or so, ago. The desperation someone must feel in order to do this. Scares me knowing that people with this mindset are just out there roaming around with us in our communities. The gift of fear again, be aware of your neighbors and surroundings and what's going on with them.
On the upside, today is my day to spend some time with the 3rd graders. I'm challenging myself to know all of their names by this afternoon. Thank goodness, we missed the latest blizzard that hit one third of the country. So many people stuck in the airports. Oh, and it's warming up here today. May even open the windows for some fresh air later today. Will not be open very long mind you, only 23degrees, however it's better than zero. Let's say FRESH!
Have a good day wherever you may be!
